The "Landlord Special." Expect layers of beige paint over light switches, drafty windows, and radiators that bang all night. You are paying for shelter, not comfort.
Maintenance Purgatory. Submitting a ticket for a leaky sink is often met with silence until the water damages the unit below—at which point it becomes your fault.
Inefficient Housing. These buildings bleed energy. Single-pane glass and lack of insulation mean your Avista bill (Target #5) will be astronomically higher than in a 4 Degrees unit.
The Verdict: The "Slumlord" Buffer. They allow property owners to extract wealth from a community without ever having to look a tenant in the eye or fix a boiler.
Hostile. The office environment is defensive by design. They treat tenants as liabilities to be managed rather than customers to be served.
